Electric Vehicle Charging Station

In an effort to help support the widespread use of emissions-free vehicles, Travis Park Church has

installed the first Electric Vehicle Charging Station available to the general public in San Antonio. A new website, wwwtxunplugged.com, has been developed to register locations for the thousands of new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles expected to be on the market in 2010. There are already several all-electric vehicles in San Antonio, most of which are converted from existing gas powered vehicles. These efforts are part of our focus on sustainability and long term environmental stewardship.

We hosted a press conference in June 2009 to announce the installation of the charging station. Among the vehicles featured was Luke Laborde’s electric car, which he built in the summer of 2008.
