Vacation Bible School 2012

Animal Crackers Vacation Bible School helped us understand world hunger in a Biblical context. We learned to see ourselves as part of the global family and gain a deeper appreciation of animals and plants living in harmony with God’s good Earth. We learned real ways to help others around the world.
Each day, the age groups rotated through six sites:
- In Every Corner Sing (Bible)
- Crafts
- Music
- Culture/snacks
- Games
- Stories
The age groups were led by youth of Travis Park UMC and each site is taught by volunteers, many of them with years of VBS participation and/or professional teaching experience.
Each day, we learned about two places in the world where Heifer International is at work and two animals and/or resources provided for people to lift themselves out of poverty.
Monday chickens/cows Mississippi, Uganda
Tuesday fish/goats Thailand, Albania
Wednesday llamas/pigs Ecuador, Dom. Republic
Thursday rabbits/sheep China, Mexico
Friday water buffalo/seedlings Peru, India
