About Us
Unconditional Love and Justice in Action
Travis Park Church is a progressive and historic Reconciling United Methodist Congregation, grounded in both history and vision. We are the oldest Protestant congregation in San Antonio. Organized as a church in 1846, we began worshipping at this site 20 years later at the heart of downtown. We are a church that embraces the value of stories: in them we can find truth, meaning, hope and connection with God and with one another.
Travis Park Church is affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network, a group of congregations and groups worldwide which have adopted statements welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
You will not find a stagnant congregation here. You will find a diverse mix of young and old, affluent and unhoused, cisgender and transgender, highly educated and illiterate worshipping side by side as beloved Children of God.
We welcome all, affirm all, and advocate justice for all.
