This Lenten season, the Young Adult Hygiene Kit Ministry launches, inviting our church to practice care by providing hygiene kits for our unhoused neighbors. Hygiene care isn’t just about being clean, it’s about basic dignity.

What is the Hygiene Kit Ministry?
The Hygiene Kit Ministry is sponsored by the Young Adults of Travis Park Church and will provide basic hygiene items to our underserved neighbors in San Antonio. Each kit includes everyday essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and other necessities like feminine hygiene products. Hygiene kits will be shared with individuals who participate in our existing ministries and outreach efforts, as well as neighbors who lack reliable access to basic hygiene supplies.

Why is this ministry needed now?
The need for basic care in our community continues to increase, especially as federal funding for social safety net programs faces cuts. While we already offer meals, showers, clinical care, and fellowship, access to personal hygiene items remains a significant gap for many people we serve.

How can I support the Hygiene Kit Ministry?
You can donate hygiene items from our Amazon wish list, contribute financially, or help to connect us with community partners doing similar work. The Hygiene Kit Ministry is designed to be an ongoing effort as part of our long term commitment to caring for our neighbors in San Antonio.
