The rain got the memo and made way for a beautiful Family Pride Picnic on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who planned, prayed, played, served, supported, danced, and celebrated with our families.

2025 Event Recap & Photos
On Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families visited Woodlawn Lake Park for the first-ever Family Pride Picnic, hosted by Travis Park United Methodist Church. This marked the church’s first community-wide Pride event — we hope it’s the first of many to come.
While Pride Week and Pride Month offer countless opportunities for celebration, Travis Park Church saw a need for a daytime, family-focused event where families of all kinds could gather with joy in an affirming and inclusive environment. Community partners and vendors quickly responded with enthusiasm, underscoring how much this kind of event means to San Antonio.
“This is about showing up and showing love,” said Tammy Begis, San Antonio lead for Free Mom Hugs and coordinator of the picnic planning team. “Families need to know they are seen, they are celebrated, and they are not alone.”
