Happening: Senior High Winter Trip

Our Senior High Youth is going on a Winter Retreat and attending Happening #175 in Camp Allen on January 27-29. Happening is a weekend renewal retreat for high school youth that is hosted through the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Even though it is a predominantly Episcopalian event, they actively invite and welcome Youth from all denominations and often have other denominations join them for their retreats.

What is Happening?

Happening is described as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience,” and through the experience of the retreat students are encouraged to participate in one’s own church and Youth group. During these retreats faith is seriously examined in a relaxed, fun, informal, and loving atmosphere.

Things to Know:

Happening takes place four times a year at Camp Allen – Campsite 3.Camp Allen is in Navasota, Texas, just over three hours away.
The weekend begins on Friday evening at 7pm and is over Sunday evening after closing Eucharist. All Happeners must stay the entire weekend.
We are attending Happening, not the Happening Lock In.
Any student in 9^th– 12^th grade (as of November) may attend Happening. Adults who are involved in youth ministry are also encouraged to attend.
Registration costs will be covered by Travis Park Church, but we are asking for a $10 deposit for each student to show a commitment to attending the retreat. Meals and lodging are included.
The registration date for the retreat has changed from previous correspondence!
