These tables become a kind of shelter. Not from the weather, but from pretending.

You can show up cracked open, worn thin, still carrying the scent of a day you barely made it through, and no one flinches. There is no need to explain yourself here. No need to tidy up the truth. Whatever you bring with you- fatigue, doubt, quiet grief, or simply the weight of being human, it is received without hesitation.

We share communion. Bread is passed. The cup is offered. Simple movements, familiar and sacred. But here, they feel like more than ritual. They feel like recognition.

Here, service isn’t a task. It isn’t something to complete or perform. It is the quiet courage of staying present. It is choosing to remain with one another in a world that so often teaches us to turn away. It’s the way someone listens with their whole face- eyes steady, heart open, no rush to respond, no need to fix. Just presence. Just care.

This is the Love Feast: the holy practice of remembering we’re not meant to make it alone.

Maundy Thursday remembers the night Jesus sat at a table with his friends and offered them a commandment simple enough to understand and difficult enough to live: love one another.

Here, that commandment breathes.

It moves quietly between people. In the offering of bread. In the meeting of eyes. In the unspoken agreement that whoever you are when you arrive is enough to be received.

The Love Feast is not just a remembrance. It is a return – to compassion, to community, to the truth that we belong to one another.

And in that belonging, there is grace.

And in that grace, a quiet prayer rises without needing many words:

Thank you, Jesus.
