ALL ARE WELCOME. Travis Park Church advocates equality and justice for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. As such, same-gender loving-couple weddings are permitted in our sanctuary. We stand with thousands of same-gender loving couples across the life the church, affirming their freedom to marry the person they love.
While you don’t have to be a member of Travis Park Church to have your wedding here, we would love for you to connect with our vibrant congregation! As we share “God’s unconditional love and justice in action,” we believe it would be even better with your participation.
You may request Travis Park Church to supply a clergy officiant in consultation with our senior pastor, or you may choose to provide your own ordained clergy officiant, again in consultation with our senior pastor. One requirement we have is all couples engage in premarital counseling as a foundation to a healthy marriage. We understand marriage to be a high calling and deep blessing between any two people.
Downtown San Antonio is very romantic, especially with our famous River Walk as an attractive backdrop for wedding festivities. A block from the River Walk and central to several five-star hotels, Travis Park Church’s location offers the celebrants many options for places to have neighboring elegant receptions. We are also on the picturesque horse & buggy route on which many newly-married couples love to go on their first stroll together once married.
Travis Park Church welcomes peoples of all faiths and walks of life. Visitors are impressed with our magnificent pipe organ and exquisite stained-glass windows. Our sanctuary offers spacious seating (350 downstairs and 400 in the balcony), and a center aisle perfect for a beautiful processional. We are an historical church “as old as Texas,” but we are not old-fashioned. We live by our stance of unconditional love and justice in action.
